I was on Vetenskapens värld (Swedish science show) some time ago (Monday, February 18, 2013) discussing why Northug should win the 50k race in the cross-country skiing championships. I would like to point out that I picked Johan Olsson as a possible winner if the race would go fast. However, this comment did apperently not survive the editing process. # Presentation

My name is Joakim Holmberg and I share my time between research and lecturing. I have teaching duties in various mechanics classes at the Division of Mechanics. Curriculum Vitae.

# Research interests

My main fields are computational and musculoskeletal biomechanics in sports, especially cross-country skiing. Therefore, I frequently visit the Swedish Winter Sports Research Centre at Mid Sweden University in Östersund, Sweden.

I also take an interest in method develpment of musculoskeletal biomechanics. This work is mainly carried out together with colleagues at the mechanics division in Linköping. I also got a chance to work on method development during a stay at IFSTTAR (formerly INRETS), Institut français des sciences et technologies des transports, de l'aménagement et des réseaux, Laboratoire de Biomécanique et Mécanique des Chocs (unité mixte avec l'université de Lyon), Bron, France.
